2024 Competition Rules

PARTICIPATION



Open to all who wish to participate.



Regardless of the number of works submitted, the registration fee will be €15.



Participation is exclusively in digital format and registration will be made exclusively through the following link http://argizpi.fotogenius.es



Once the jury has selected the finalist works, the authors will be notified to send the RAW originals. (If you do not anticipate that you will not be able to send the files on those days, please contact the organization).



The works will be verified by facing the final JPG photographs on their original RAW.

Images that do not meet the requirements will be declassified.

Participation in this competition implies full acceptance of these rules. The Organization may resolve any case not provided for in them. Communications and texts sent must be written in Basque, English or Spanish.

WORKS

Maximum 4 works per category per author (maximum 16 works in total). Not previously awarded or selected in this contest.



DELIVERY FORMAT

  • Photographs will be submitted in JPG format.

  • It measures 4000 pixels on the larger side, 254 dpi, and cannot exceed 5 MB.

  • The JPG file submitted to the competition must keep the EXIF data with the technical parameters of the shot (avoiding adding identifying data of the author). Failure to include the image may be grounds for disqualification.



TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:



The following are allowed:

  • Small reframes as long as the final image exceeds 10 MP without interpolation.

  • Corrections for lens distortion and optical aberrations.

  • HDR images, composite panoramas and images obtained with Focus-Stacking.

  • Black and white processing (with moderate contrast values and respecting the rest of the indications regarding processing)

  • Multiple in-camera exposures, as long as they have been taken in sequence, in the same place and time (the metadata of the original images will be checked).

In any case, the adjustments must not fundamentally alter the appearance of the original image.



The following are not allowed:

  • Works that are embedded with signatures or watermarks, identifying the author or artistic name. Nor those that have frames or piping that in some way frame the image.

  • Works with dimension distortion or changes in perspective.

  • Excessive global processing.

  • Zonal processing.

  • Removals, cloning or manipulation on site other than cleaning of dust specks, grease on both the sensor and the optics.

  • Multiple exposures that are not sequential or achieved with in-camera overlay tools or achieved through the Light and Dark methods.

  • Photographs of domestic or farm animals, trained or in captivity, as well as cultivated plants.



JURY

It will be made up of people of recognized solvency within the photographic field, and its decision will be final. An email will be sent to each participant with the result of the contest.



EXPOSITION

The organization will be in charge of the production of a selection of the 30 finalist works (15 Beasain Hiria, 15 Igartza Saria) to be exhibited in the Igartza Palace Exhibition Hall in Beasain, from May 19 to June 2,

from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday,

weekends from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.



NOTES



  • All cash prizes will be subject to withholding tax.

  • Any work that does not meet the above requirements will be automatically disqualified.

  • By participating in this show, you expressly consent to the personal data provided (and this including email addresses) being stored, processed and used for purposes related to this show by the organization. Consent is also given for this information to be sent to organizations that have an official recognition, sponsorship or accreditation agreement with this room. Entrant knows and agrees that participating in this room means that the status and results of any entrant may be made public.

  • The authors assign the rights to the organization of the contest, for the publication and dissemination of the winning and finalist images, and for the promotional use of the contest, the exhibition and the contest in future editions. The winners and finalists accept the free reproduction of their images in the media with the aim of disseminating the results of the contest, always including the name of the author. They also authorize the publication of their name as a finalist or winner, as well as the capture and dissemination of their image.

  • The author of the competing works is recognized as the author of the same and has full right over them to authorize them to be exhibited and published in catalogs, web, etc. ceding this right to the organisers and the sponsoring bodies of the contest, exempting them from any liability in the event of a claim for image rights to third parties. Participants are fully responsible for ensuring that there are no third-party rights in the works submitted.

  • Any incident that arises, but is not reflected in them, will be resolved by the organization.

  • The jury will have the power to change the category images whenever it deems appropriate
